Call-out

This is a call-out. We believe confronting patriarchy and male domination is the responsibility of men. It is not dependant on sistas calling us out or teaching us how to change. They should no more be expected to act in our service in these regards than in any other role we might impose upon them.

We want men to come forward to discuss their role in patriarchy and its effect on their lives and those of sistas. It is easy to point our fingers at the overt, outright sexism of “other men” or other parts of society whilst being blind to the insidious presence of patriarchy in our spaces, our relationships, and our minds. We must wield this critique against ourselves. In doing so we also strive to end the damage patriarchy has wrought on our own lives.
